Happy Holidays
Happy Holidays
2004 is quickly drawing to a close, and that means it's time for another iteration of my annual Christmas card. The year began with a wedding... mine! On January 31st Erika and I got married at the Ahwahnee hotel in Yosemite. It was a smallish wedding, but the ceremony and reception turned out beautifully. I have a few pics on the website here.

Of course, after the wedding (and a week of recovery), it was time for a honeymoon. We opted to spend a week in Kelowna, British Columbia. It's a beautiful town on an enormous lake surrounded by snow-covered mountains. We stayed in a nice 2-bedroom condo overlooking the lake, drank some very nice Champagne, went cross-country skiing, and of course, wine tasting. BC makes some fantastic dessert wines. I've got pics on the website here, including Erika and I searching for OgoPogo, Canada's very own brand of Loch Ness monster!

The rest of the year was largely spent fixing up the condo. The big development being that we finally managed to install new flooring. Having ripped the incredibly dirty carpet out shortly after we moved in, it took a long time to buy the materials, prep the house, and install the tile (kitchen and bathrooms) and pergo (rest of the house). It looks great now though and was worth the effort and the wait. It's also much cleaner and our Roomba robotic vacuum does most of the work to keep it that way.

In other news, I started a new job in November this year. A transfer opportunity was offered to me that sounded too good to pass up. I'm still working for LA County, and I'm still doing the same kind of work, but I've traded the hour drive to the office in Downey for a 35 minute ride on the Metrolink train and a short hop on the subway. I like it a lot better and it's kind of like finding an extra two hours a day to read books, magazines, and newspapers. Its also a lot cheaper than driving with gas so expensive.

Hope everything's well and I wish you a happy holiday season,
